Cats heading to Granville Island

Writer's picture: Sheena McCorquodaleSheena McCorquodale

My charcoal drawings "Cecelia" and "Chub Chub" were juried into the upcoming Federation of Canadian Artists "2023 Animalis Exhibition" in the Federation Gallery on Granville Island Vancouver, showing March 7 - 19. Many of you may be acquainted with my grumpy, erratic, fat, lazy, and still somehow loveable, studio cat Cece. Chub Chub (not her real name - lol) was a visitor in my Comfy Cat Kennel.

When I draw or sculpt an animal, my goal is to reach into their character and have it project to the viewer. A full range of emotions, bundled up into another species, that still manages to communicate with us.
