It was a busy year for me with exhibits.
I was juried into 16 different FCA shows for both 2D and 3D entries and won a number of awards
I had 2 pieces of sculpture in the Sooke Fine Arts show
I was thrilled to receive my AFCA of Sculpture.
I'm now working towards getting an AFCA for my paintings and I will be applying for my SFCA for my sculptures. To find out about the signature status levels and their requirements with the Federation of Canadian Artists go to https://artists.ca/membership_chapters/signature_status___application
I've had a year that was packed with good things, great opportunities and very kind people. I'm grateful for all the encouragement I have received from fellow artists.
Looking forward to an exciting 2024! I'll be kicking off the year with 2 shows.
January 20 - 27 will be the FRESH FACES FROM THE CATHOUSE 2024 SHOW. This will feature 8 artists from the studio group that has been meeting at the Cathouse Studio on a monthly basis for the past 9 years. The format is two 50 minute poses with a 20 minute break/mini party where we get to enjoy each other's work. To see more about this group go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/qbaystudio
I'll be heading to Mexico on the 2nd week of February for a bit of visiting and then I'll be Joining Dominik Modlinsky at the Casa Buena north of Puerto Vallarta for a week of landscape painting. I'm so looking forward to that! https://www.casabuenaartretreat.com/home-1
Once I'm back from my little trip, I will be having another show. WIRED AT THE CATHOUSE will feature over 20 sculptures created by students that came to the Weekend Wire Workshops in 2023. Come and cast your vote for your favourite. For more info on the Student show go to https://www.cathousegallery.com/student-shows
I'll be teaching the Wire Workshops again starting in mid March. For more details on the workshops go to https://www.cathousegallery.com/2-day-workshops
I hope you'll be able to come and enjoy the shows
Merry Christmas and here's to a 2024 jam packed with good stuff
cheers ~Sheena
